TAKE CARE OF OUR ENVIRONMENT

Faced with the climate emergency, we are ready to accelerate the energy transition by reducing our consumption while increasing the production of renewable energy. The actions undertaken by residents, businesses and local authorities focus on the management and reduction of waste and revolve around issues of town planning, housing and transport but also combat food insecurity. A straw-fired boiler supplies part of the urban heating network in Poitiers; the Territorial Food Plan gives coherence to the issues and actions of the entire local agricultural and food sector; university courses dedicated to energy management and/or sustainable development (at ENSIP) also prepare for the jobs of tomorrow.

A TASTE OF ENTERTAINMENT ?

Our territory’s natural and historical heritage is an open invitation. The investment and creativity of events and show organisers contribute to the wealth of what is on offer. There is always something to do !

''GRAND POITIERS : AN IDEAL CITY TO WORK IN ''

Estelle Jouhanneau is a freelance in the field of graphic communication. A native of Poitiers, city of opportunities and territorial solidarity, Estelle highlights the health of the territory. Self-employed for more than a year, she says “it’s not difficult to work here” and that she “is motivated and driven”. The working climate is favourable and rail links mean you can get to big cities like Paris and Bordeaux in less than 2 hours.

She thinks that Poitiers is a place for dialogue exchange where you can find an “interesting mix of young working people, families, students, and the elderly… which allows your working life to expand”.
